Thanks to the vigilance of one of our amazing volunteers and a dedicated Running Springs resident, BVPS was alerted to an illegal dumpsite down a 20-foot ravine in the beloved Deep Creek Watershed. Acting swiftly, our team located the site and coordinated with the U.S. Forest Service to ensure a collaborative cleanup effort. Over the course of six hours, six of our incredible volunteers worked tirelessly to remove approximately one ton of trash from the ravine.
The debris included 12 large tires, bicycles, three mattresses, a microwave, and 15 bags of trash and other debris. With the support of a Forest Service District Recreation Officer, we secured a proper location for disposal, ensuring the waste was handled responsibly.
We are deeply inspired by the dedication of our volunteers, whose hard work continues to make a tangible, positive impact on our environment. Their efforts not only restore the natural beauty of our cherished landscapes but also serve as a reminder of what we can achieve together to protect and preserve our mountain community.
